Excellence in education only comes about through the dedication and commitment of our faculty members, learners and colleagues in our healthcare environment. Among those who have chosen to dedicate their career to academic medicine, some have stood out in the past year as accomplished and influential educators; these awards are meant to recognize those individuals and teams. The opportunity to educate and influence the next generation, to advance the knowledge and work of our peers, and support those who have gone before us and continue to work and learn alongside us is a gift.
