Dr. Patricia Houston

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of our Temerty Faculty of Medicine award recipients and nominees.

Both individually and collectively, you have continued to make a remarkable impact within our learning environments under immensely difficult circumstances and extenuating clinical and administrative pressures. You have provided much needed mentorship, leadership, guidance and support within our education programs during a time of great uncertainty and change.

Supporting and engaging our learners across the continuum of our education programs is at the heart of all we do. We have a duty to our learners to listen, to adapt, to innovate, and to inspire. The Temerty Medicine awards recognize and honour many facets of medical education, with a common element being the willingness and ability to share personal perspectives, expertise and knowledge. Medical education is wonderful and inspiring work that comes with tremendous obligation and responsibility, which each of you have demonstrated in all that you do.

It is now more important than ever that we lead by example. This includes acting with kindness, care and compassion, both to each other and to ourselves. I am continually inspired by you, our faculty, and your truly remarkable work and accomplishments.
