Biography
Sylvia Langlois is an Associate Professor in Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, and the Associate Director, Academics in the Centre for Advancing Collaborative Healthcare and Education (CACHE). In her CACHE role, Sylvia, with the guidance of the InterFaculty Curriculum Committee, is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Interprofessional Education curriculum offered to more than 4500 students from the eleven health and social care professional programs at the university. Sylvia has a passion for co-creating/co-delivering curriculum with those with lived experience to enhance engagement of learners and to help them see how patient patients and their family members can partner optimally with their healthcare team. Her research interests include development of competencies required to participate on virtual teams, patient engagement in health profession education, and health systems science.
