Program Details

The mental health ECHO for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities Hub team is made up of clinicians working in health and social services, family caregivers and people with developmental disabilities. Since 2020, the ECHO Hub team has offered its cross sector interprofessional education programs to over 600 people in Ontario and across Canada. The team integrates people’s lived experience with the perspectives of social work, nursing, occupational therapy, family medicine, psychiatry, psychology and behavior therapy to provide case-based recommendations to learners. Consistent with the “All teach, all learn” philosophy of Project ECHO, the team is proud of the ways it continues to learn from one another.

"[EHCO] is based on 'all teach, all learn' approach and leverages....technology to connect primary care and other health care providers ("spokes") to specialist teams ("hubs"), to collaborate, learn and share best practices.

About the Award

Acknowledging the importance of exceptional health care teams in the provision of quality health care, this award was developed to recognize excellence in in continuing professional development activities designed to enhance interprofessional team practice and improve healthcare delivery.
