Biography

Dr. Ashlie Nadler is an Assistant Professor and Acute Care Surgeon at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the University of Toronto. Ashlie completed the General Surgery Residency Program at the University of Toronto. She then did a Surgical Oncology Fellowship in Philadelphia at the Fox Chase Cancer Center and at the same time completed a Master of Public Health at Drexel University in Philadelphia. She subsequently completed a Master’s in Quality and Patient Safety through the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto. Ashlie is Sub-section Lead, Acute Care Surgery, Department of Surgery and Integrated Community Program, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Her clinical interests are in acute care surgery and emergency surgical oncology. Her research interests are in quality improvement, education, and acute care surgery.

Summary of Award Work

Dr. Nadler was selected as the recipient for the Health Science Research (HSR) Teaching Excellence award. This award is specific to tutors who teach for the Health Science Research (HSR) Component in second year of undergraduate medical education. Dr. Nadler was selected because she demonstrates exemplary teaching excellence and shows an outstanding ability to impart knowledge, work together with students and invoke research enthusiasm and participation.

The HSR Teaching Excellence Award recognizes individual tutors in the Health Science Research component in the MD Program whose teaching practice is exemplary and inspiring.
