Biography

Dr. Kucy Pon is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Dermatology, Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Her training includes medical school at the University of Saskatchewan, dermatology residency at the University of Toronto, and fellowship training in Laser Surgery and Aesthetic Dermatology in Boston, Massachusetts, under the tutelage of world renowned Harvard and Yale faculty.

She is passionate about education, resident advocacy and wellness. After fellowship, Dr. Pon returned to Toronto with a mission to train dermatology residents in procedural dermatology. She is currently the Director of the Dermatologic Procedural Course and Workshops; the founder and Co-Director of Canada’s only official fellowship program in Dermatologic Laser Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine; and, the Wellness Champion for both residents and faculty within the Division of Dermatology.

About the Award

The Sarita Verma Award for Advocacy and Mentorship in Postgraduate Medicine was established in 2010 and named after the former Vice Dean, Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME). The award recognizes staff or faculty members who exhibit an exemplary level of leadership and commitment to social responsibility, mentorship, advocacy, and resident wellbeing.
