Dr. Leslie Po and Lisa Roberts

Biography

Dr. Leslie Po MD MSc(HQ) FRCSC is an Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Toronto, Canada. She currently practices at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto. Dr. Po completed her obstetrics and gynaecology residency at the University of Toronto and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynaecologic Surgery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Po also holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Quality from Queen’s University. Dr. Po’s research interest is in quality improvement and patient safety (QIPS). She is currently the co-lead for QIPS at Sunnybrook and is the obstetrical lead for the PROMPT initiative. She is actively involved in QIPS at the University of Toronto and nationally for the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) as the former co-chair of their Choosing Wisely Canada Committee and member of the Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) Committee for Gynecology. This program is a great demonstration of interprofessional education and development, focused on common obstetrical emergencies that require optimal communication, teamwork, and situational awareness. This highly successful and multidisciplinary patient safety program has been well received and highly regarded. It demonstrates exceptional teamwork and an ongoing commitment to the continuous commitment to improving outcomes for patients.
